Our Montessori full day friends had so much fun this afternoon with story cubes! After rolling the dice, students worked together to create a fun & creative story. Here's what they came up with:
On a sunny day(☀️),

I ran out, I saw a bat(🦇),
I was sad. (😔)
I went to a neighbors house(🚗),
met a new friend (👫),
and we cut our hair. (✂️)
We can’t wait to create more stories!

Our Kindergartners are a "force" to be reckoned with! They had a big, blue, special guest for Science recently when they were invited down to Mrs. Witkowski's science lab. They first reviewed what it means to be a scientist & how to make predictions, then did a special experiment & movement activity on forces! Kindergartners learned how to move "Big Bluey" (a huge blow up elephant) with pushes & pulls, drew their own examples of forces, & sorted toys based on the type of forces that move them.

St. Joseph was the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the foster-father of Jesus, & a carpenter. Through his work St. Joseph provided for the Holy Family & shared in the divine plan of salvation. He was a good & patient man. Even though he never speaks in the Bible, St. Joseph was a man of action. He always obeyed God even though he did not always understand. Through his love and care for Jesus & Mary, St. Joseph showed his love for God.

Faith Families are groups of students, each represented by a Saint & led by one of our teachers. These mixed-grade-level groups sit together at school Masses, take turns leading the liturgy, & work together for special projects & events like Catholic Schools Week, Spirit Week & our end of year HSA Picnic.

Spring is almost here, & 2nd grade is learning about seeds & how they travel! Did you know some seeds travel half way around the world before they're planted? Students made replicas of Koa, Maple, & Rain tree seeds, then noted how each kind falls differently to the ground.
🌈 ☘️ Mrs. Wojtaszek's grade 2 class was soo close to catching a leprechaun yesterday! ...But boy did he leave their classroom in disarray! The leprechaun was careless though & dropped a golden chocolate coin for each student to enjoy. They also ate a rainbow of fruit for snack!
Mr. Baker's 4th graders tried to use the "luck o' the Irish" to create their own rainbows today using only Play-Doh & Froot Loops! They ended the activity with a museum walk to see how each group completed the task!

Last Friday students (and a teacher, congrats Mrs. Bishop!) were recognized for displaying the virtue of REVERENCE, or showing your deepest respect for things of God, during the month of February. Mrs. Laderer and Mrs. D'Angelo had a great Lunch Bunch with the 5th grade girls. They were tasked with building the tallest freestanding balloon tower they could using only body language and gestures. Before heading to a a girl's only lunch in the classroom, Mrs. Laderer lead them in a discussion about what would have made the structure stronger...SUPPORT! We all need to support one another through our words, actions, and prayers during this Lenten season.
🍀🌈💛Grade 1 is looking to trap some sneaky leprechauns! Students brought in recyclable materials from home to make these ingenious creations that will be set up in their classroom over the weekend.... do you think they'll be successful?
