Volunteers also needed for the ANNUAL SCHOOL PICNIC on Tuesday, June 13th!
What some may call the best school day of the year is fast approaching - the annual SMS School Picnic! This year the color teams are back, and we’ve got a lot of fun activities up our sleeve! Sign up to volunteer that day and see your kids competing and having fun with their friends before school is out for the summer!

Our third grade class had a birthday party today, to celebrate the birthday of the Church this Sunday at Pentecost. Students learned how the Holy Spirit is like the air in a balloon; we can’t see it, but we know it’s there. We also opened ‘gifts,’ that represented the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Hey Dads, Grandparents, High School/College Siblings! MANY VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR THE MOTHER-SON CARNIVAL ON JUNE 3rd!
A night of fun for both Mothers and Sons is planned for Saturday, June 3rd in our own school gym. We can’t have any fun without VOLUNTEERS and donations though! Dads, we’re looking at you! The Moms volunteered and worked together to make the Father Daughter Dance a memorable evening for you, now show your wife and son(s) how much you care by signing up to volunteer for the carnival! 7th and 8th grade girls are also welcome to volunteer! Help make this annual event and a success, please SIGN UP HERE: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c044caead2ca3f94-mother1#/

St. Mary's 4th and 5th grade are on their way to Mumford, NY for a day at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. Stay tuned for pictures of their adventures!

We have recently learned that, effective July 1st, the new Pastor of our Family of Parishes will be Rev. Thomas M. Mahoney. Fr. Tom was born and raised in Depew where he attended Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. He went on to receive an Accounting degree from Niagara University after which he worked in Public Accounting for nine years and as a Chief Financial Officer for ten years. He was ordained on June 6, 2015, served at St. Gregory the Great Church for four years, was the administrator at St. Peter's in Lewiston for several months, and has been the Pastor at Infant of Prague Parish for the last 3 years. Fr. Tom is looking forward to getting to know our St. Mary's family and his new Family of Parishes.

Miss Gianna is our Kindergarten Teacher Assistant for the day! 🤩 The children enjoyed coloring a light up craft, extra time outside, & a lot of stickers today! 😍Gianna is also giving them the night off…No Homework!! 🥳☀️🥰
We truly appreciate Gianna's parents supporting our school by bidding on this great student experience at the Spring for Success Auction.

Holly decided to pop into Mrs. Pronti’s 6th grade Social Studies class today and learn about Ancient Civilizations!

6th and 7th grade students welcomed Mr. Aaron Mentkowski this afternoon for a presentation on weather to wrap up their study on weather and climate. They also enjoyed a pizza lunch from Cusimano's!

Heading to Philly with our 8th graders!

Rev. Luke Uebler, III announced during Masses this weekend that beginning July 1, 2023, Fr. Thomas Mahoney will be the new pastor of our Family of Parishes which includes St. Mary's Church (Swormville), St. Teresa of Avila (Akron), Our Lady of Peace (Clarence), and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Harris Hill). Fr. Tom will be coming to our Family from Infant of Prague in Cheektowaga.
Ministering together with him will be parochial vicars Fr. Art Mattulke, Fr. Walter Szczesny, and Fr. Joe Franz. Fr. Luke Uebler has been named the pastor of St. Raphael (Niagara Falls), St. Peter (Lewiston), and St. Bernards (Youngstown), also effective July 1st.
As we go through this time of transition, we keep our Prayer for Renewal in our minds and hearts. St. Mary's Faith Community is truly grateful for the faith-filled leadership and friendship that Fr. Luke has shared with us. We will miss his smile, enthusiasm, humility, and love of the Lord. At the same time, we welcome Fr. Tom and his team of parochial vicars to St. Mary's and look forward to continuing our spiritual journey with them in service to God and others.

Where at St. Mary's is Holly?
In this photo, she is waiting patiently for Mommy to take her home at the end of the week.

This morning Mrs. Kotlik and Mrs. Meinhold split up to take the children on a Two-Dimensional Shape Scavenger Hunt! 🥰 The children had so much fun! ✏️ They saw Holly along the way, they might have disrupted a class or two, and Mrs. D’Angelo saved the day by finding a hexagon beehive in her office…😅😉🐝❤️

Two sessions of Montessori Summer Adventures are sold out! Only 8 spots left for Bubble Science July 24 - 28! Go to our school website for details and a registration form.
