Miss Pamela Gon joined our St. Mary School family this past fall as our Kindergarten teacher, and has brought a wealth of knowledge, warmth, love and experience to our Kindergarten classroom! If you walk by her room on any given day, you might find her students working together peacefully, singing a new song together that she taught them to help remember a concept, or up out of their seats dancing and getting active during a well deserved "brain break". Miss Gon certainly has a way with our youngest St. Mary's "bees"! Let's find out more about her...
"This year is my sixth year teaching early elementary students and I absolutely love it. I was born and raised in the WNY area, and I attended Buffalo State for both my bachelor’s and master’s programs. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree with a dual certification in both early and childhood elementary education along with a concentration in mathematics. In my master’s program, I graduated in curriculum and instruction.
Just some fun facts about me, I have an older sister and a younger brother, along with two family pets – a dog named Seymour and a cat named Rocky. I love the summer and fall seasons as I enjoy being outside going for hikes and relaxing by the water with a good book. I also have a passion for the arts! After taking a break from dancing for 15 years, I have recently put my dance shoes back on and love to bring movement and music into my classroom.
Some of my favorite things include teaching, hiking, shopping, swimming, dancing, traveling, reading, sunflowers, and spending time with family and friends. I like to collect anything that has to do with the ocean and beach. My favorite colors are sea-foam green and purple. I love Greek food, ice cream and Barnes and Noble! "
We feel so blessed that Miss Gon chose to join our SMS family - she has been an amazing addition, just ask her students! In Miss Gon's classroom you can expect your child's year to be full of fun, learning, and growing. Your child will meet new friends, learn lots of new skills, and make wonderful memories, all while being immersed in a setting that honors Catholic values, and shapes young men and women into tomorrow's leaders.
