Grade 4 welcomed a new (junior) teacher for the day yesterday... Miss Palladino! Miss Palladino helped Miss Kerwin with planning & teaching her daily classes, dressed down for the day, enjoyed lunch with Miss Kerwin, Mrs. Gengo & a friend, & received a junior teacher goodie bag. She also led the "spider web challenge" in Science Class - great job Miss Palladino! Our grade 3/4 soccer team played so well this evening in their game at Fort Niagara against St. Peter's! They came back in the last 2 minutes to tie it up for a final score of 4-4, & went for some well deserved ice cream along the Niagara River afterwards! #soccer #youthsports
Miss Sanderson's class celebrated their auction item, "Wild About Third Grade" today! The special student got a dress down pass, the chance to bring their favorite stuffed animal around the school, chose a special snack & movie for the class, & completed animal themed activities throughout the day! Tonight (5/22) is the last set of talks with St. Mary's Parish Mission guest speaker, Karlo Broussard. Karlo's talk at 6:30 p.m. is entitled, DEFENDING MORAL TRUTH IN A MORAL SHAME CULTURE. He will follow with a second presentation at 7:50 p.m., THE NEW RELATIVISM: UNMASKING THE PHILOSOPHY OF TODAY’S WOKE MORALISTS.

Mrs. Catherine Friedman, a parishioner at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was a guest speaker for grade 6 this am. She shared the story of Our Lady of Fatima's apparitions in 1917 to three shepherd children in Portugal, in preparation for the class's field trip to the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima tomorrow. The 8th grade visited the US Marine Corp War Memorial this morning. You may be wondering why they are in their uniforms...they will be participating in a special tour of the White House and capital and want to represent SMS well.
Mrs. Bishop & Mrs. Wojtaszek finished up 6 weeks of "Healthy Steps" with grades 1 & 2 yesterday! The students had fun making healthy snacks & walking outside each Mon. afternoon.
